Card Making Again

I've been on sick leave since March 3rd.  I decided I couldn't go back to work for that employer as their management style included lying, bullying, intimidation, and threats, so I gave notice and was officially done on July 11th.  Hopefully I won't find a job until fall as I'd like to enjoy the summer, but I'll look just the same.

I made 35 cards last month and 25 so far this month.  I am really happy about that.  I'm trying to make some for sale and hope to have enough in time for the sale in November.  Right now I'm just happy to be creating again.  I've been doing One-Sheet Wonders and my next one will be done to a kids theme.  Ok, after the cards for my BIL's birthday.

Finally Spending Time at my Craft Desk

I did it!  I finally made a card.  It's been ages since I made one.  A friend asked me to make a generic baby card since the recipient doesn't know the baby's sex yet.  It's actually more of congrats you're going to have a baby and she'll give another card after the birth.  I gave it to her this afternoon and she really loved it. She's also asked for a retirement card for another friend plus I need to make 2 male and 2 female birthday cards and 2 anniversary cards for family.  Maybe the pressure of the deadlines will get me in the spirit and I might start building up a stash.  I'll keep my fingers crossed that I get lots of creative mojo happening.

Long time no blog

It's been ages since I made an entry, but then it's been ages since I made a pile of cards, too.  Depression got the best of me for a bit and I went in to the hospital.  I'm off work for a few months so I can get my life back on track.  I still need between 10-12 hours sleep to function, but hopefully soon that will change.  Once I feel a bit more energetic I have plans to start making cards again. Fingers crossed on that one.
Spring is nearly here so that will also help.  Happy Easter everyone!

Good Wishes to Spare?

Mandy at Crafty Fox Cards is having a bit of a time with sick family members.  She's making the rounds of three different hospitals right now.  One cousin has cancer and is getting treatment.  Another just had a bad stroke that's done a lot of damage.  Plus, now her mum has fallen and dislocated her hip.  She will probably need a new hip replacement and is suffering from several complications to boot.  If you've got some time to spare, stop by and send some good wishes her way.

Erika is celebrating her 2 year blogaversary.  She has about $900 dollars of goodies to give away and she's splitting it up so there are multiple winners.  There's lots of great stuff so check it out.  Maybe I'm silly, but the thing I want most is the Bow Easy; I'm not greedy, I'll even let someone else have the ribbon that goes with it.  I just want the tool and I'm sure my mom would want her serving fork back if she knew I had it, hehe!  I think I'd better sneak it back in the kitchen before the turkey needs serving or I'll be busted!  Anyhow, Happy Blogaversary Erika!  (see the link in the sidebar)

Well another month gone. I've been doing a little of the bandana technique in preparation for card making.  I haven't sat down to make cards in months.  Ok, not quite true.  I've sat at my craft table trying to get inspired and come up dry several times.  Now I need to get creating since I give a friend some all occasion cards as a Christmas gift and I haven't made any of them yet.  I bought a new magazine called Card Maker that looks promising, so this weekend I'll have to sit down with it and see what comes out of it.  I've got my fingers crossed.

My heart and best wishes go out to Mandy from  Crafty Fox Cards.  She's suffering from back problems that are leaving her in constant debilitating pain.  As someone suffering from chronic problems myself, she sure has my sympathy.
